Managing mid-term adjustments across policy systems
Map the data, approvals and documents involved in a controlled mid-term adjustment journey.
A mid-term adjustment can touch customer details, risk information, premium, documents and downstream records. The workflow should make the requested change and its effective date explicit, then preserve the before-and-after values and the decision trail.
Design the workflow
Define which changes can follow a standard route and which need review. For each route, specify required evidence, validation, authority, communication and any connected system updates. Avoid relying on free-text notes as the only record of a material change.
Test and govern
Test amendments that are reversed, partially completed, received near renewal or blocked by an unavailable service. Reconcile the policy record, document output and any related financial or reporting event. Clear ownership and an exception queue make it easier to see what remains outstanding without treating an incomplete transaction as complete.
Define the source of truth, accountable owner and exception path before implementation. Test representative scenarios and retain the evidence needed to review outcomes. This practical guidance does not make a claim about a specific VYPR product capability.
