Recording reinsurance policy changes and cancellations
Keep policy amendments and cancellations traceable across records and documents.
A policy change or cancellation can affect several records, documents and parties. The workflow should capture the request, effective date, authority and supporting evidence, then show which systems and stakeholders still need an update.
Design the workflow
Use a distinct state for requested, under review, agreed and completed work. Record the terms that changed and preserve the previous version. If confirmation is outstanding, make that dependency visible rather than presenting the transaction as final.
Test and govern
Test partial completion, corrections to an effective date, a change received during another open task and a cancellation that requires follow-up. Reconcile the final record with the relevant documentation and communications. Define who resolves mismatches and how the audit trail is retained. These controls support reliable administration but do not replace review of the underlying terms.
Define the source of truth, accountable owner and exception path before implementation. Test representative scenarios and retain the evidence needed to review outcomes. This practical guidance does not make a claim about a specific VYPR product capability.
